What session works best for you?

Yoga Revelation is an independent and locally-owned entity, and teachers have the flexibility to adapt their outreach to the needs of each student. As you get to know the diverse cadre of yogis in the community, please do communicate your yoga experience and interests. You should come away more relaxed, open, and grounded in your body after the sessions.

Beginner Yoga (Yoga 1)

All levels welcome

In these sessions, the basics of yoga postures are taught in a manner that makes them accessible to those with no prior yoga experience. Generous cues and assists will be provided to guide participants step by step into safe alignment. Even experienced yogis can benefit from going back to the fundamentals.

Intermediate Yoga (Yoga 1&2)

Vinyasa means "to place in a special way." These sessions are designed to align physical movement with breath, balancing effort and ease as you move your body through different asanas, or yoga poses. All levels are welcome in these sessions, although some knowledge of sun salutations is recommended. You will engage and stretch many parts of your body with standing poses, balancing poses, backbends, and inversions. The session will conclude with meditation or mindful rest. The pace and emphasis of the session will vary by teacher and by the teacher’s focus for the day.

Mindfulness Meditation

All levels

Mindfulness meditation (vipassana) is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion. Sessions are by donation, with 100% of proceeds donated to local charities.

Kids Yoga

In these sessions, children explore, imagine, sing, create art, and play while learning yoga poses, breathing, and creative movement. During each fun adventure, children experience the multi-faceted benefits of yoga, such as focus, balance, relaxation, connection, and building strength. In this non-competitive, process-oriented environment, we create the foundation for a lifetime of health and wellness.

All levels welcome

Generally, the gentle yoga family of styles (somatic, yin and restorative) is performed in a seated or reclined position, and encourages non-attachment and backing away from more active muscular engagement. Gentleness can enable us to find balance within our active lifestyles. Somatic yoga is characterized by fluid movement, yin focuses on deep stretches and long holds, while restorative yoga is the most restful style within this family.
